Service Items & Prices
I charge $100 per hour for labor. Generally it takes 1.5 – 2 hours to tune to standard 440 Hz, sometimes longer, depending on the condition of the piano and your requirements. Thank you!
Voicing:
Modifying a piano’s hammers to achieve a better tone (often via softening the felt or reshaping the hammers).
Regulation：
This process accurately coordinates all of the working parts of all 88 notes on your piano.
Repairs:
This can involve fixing or replacing anything that is broken or missing, including key ivories, pedals, screws, hammers, strings, keys, action parts, hinges, knobs, etc.
Refurbishment:
Includes replacing old worn felt, replacing hinge pins for hammers and action parts, replacing hammers or dampers, installing new keytops, restringing, etc.
Tuning:
A full tuning includes everything needed to get a piano in tune and working, which may include a “pitch raise” and/or minor repairs.
Pitch Raising:
A precise and accurate fine tuning can only be accomplished when all of the piano’s strings are close to their proper tension and pitch. This may take several hours to complete resulting in a higher fee than a regular tuning.

A good quality piano tuner that can also do piano repairs is very difficult to find. Therefore, you can categorize someone as a “Piano Technician” only if he or she can do both jobs. Otherwise, they will be either a “Piano Tuner” or a “Piano Repairman”.
